About Me…

I want a faith that’s real and raw. I’m not fond of the large, religious machines in this country that tend to grind their members up in their gears. I love real dialogue about real life, faith or the arts… Please join in!

I enjoy good discussion that challenges me and engages my brain. I have a passion for Jesus but a very low tolerance for religious b.s. and /or spiritual abuse. I have a passion for mentoring and investing in the lives of the next generation. I love people who have a good sense of humor who don’t take themselves too seriously, and can handle my slightly snarkey sense of humor. I also enjoy hanging out with my friends and family, and playing with my big goofy dogs.

I have a variety of creative interests. I love reading and writing. I enjoy photography and teach it privately. I play and teach a bunch of different instruments, including but not limited to, guitar, bass, drums, hand percussion, uke, mandolin, keyboards and probably the kitchen sink. Not only am I the only middle aged woman on my block who knows what thrash metal music is… I can play it on 4 instruments. I always have the element of suprise since I don’t look like a musician at all. I even have my own instructional channel on youtube now at lindabmusiclessons1.

I’ve also had a variety of careers. I spent years as a photographer doing album covers and big touring media projects. I spent time working at churches and realized more than ever then that people were more important than managing a big building, bulletins and having a bunch of programs to keep people too busy to care for each other like family.  These days I’m much more likely to speak my mind when it comes to things of faith. I love talking to others who have a hunger to connect with God but have found it painful at times because of their interaction with other people.

Welcome to my blog… feel free to write me. I would love to hear from you.

Can you teach me to play the drums? I’ve always wanted to learn. 🙂 So nice to meet you on Nicole Wick’s site. I love your snarky humor and the raw here.

    • The drums are great… you can get in touch with your inner rocker chick. My parents always nixed the drums when I was growing up because “girls shouldn’t play drums.” What’s up with that. See you never know… we could have a wacky time via skype. 😉 I love that blog too. I like places where real dialogue can happen without it turning nasty. Keep in touch!

    • By the way… like I said I really do love your blog. I’ve always learned by asking questions… including the tough questions. I’ve lived through an incredible amount of grief, loss and pain as well. Having other’s who are walking through a similar thing has helped more than I could possibly say here. There are many things that I would like to write about that aren’t really appropriate for this forum. I would love to talk to you more. Are you on facebook? If you are and you are one of Nicole Wicks friend you can find me there and friend me. I have the same little avitar there too. I’ll see if I can’t contact you a different way from here. 🙂
